What Is Deliberately Missing?
Color gamut, Delta E, black level, contrast ratio and response time are not recorded for every exact configuration under one repeatable protocol. They are therefore omitted from this release instead of mixing manufacturer claims, panel-family assumptions and unrelated review measurements. A future measured-display layer should identify the panel ID, instrument, test method and exact SKU.
HDR labels are preserved verbatim because Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR 400, True Black 600 and a manufacturer brightness statement do not mean the same thing. Use them to open the source—not to generate an automatic winner.
Is the brightest published number always the best display?
No. Contrast, black level, local dimming, color accuracy, response time, coating and content type also matter. Published brightness labels can use different definitions.
Should I choose 240Hz over 165Hz?
Only when your games and settings can deliver useful frame rates and you value the motion benefit. Resolution, image quality and system performance remain part of the decision.
Why does the database use exact model codes?
One laptop family can ship with multiple panel types, resolutions and refresh rates. The model code and source date reduce the risk of applying one configuration's display to another.
