Score Breakdown
Gaming Performance — 1080p Benchmarks
The RTX 5060 at 100W handles every current game at 1080p High/Ultra. DLSS 4 support means demanding titles get a free frame-rate boost — in Cyberpunk 2077 with DLSS 4 Balanced, the LOQ 15 hits a smooth 98fps average. At native performance without upscaling, expect 55–75fps in the most demanding titles.
| Game | Settings | Avg FPS | 1% Low |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cyberpunk 2077 | High + DLSS 4 Balanced | 98 | 78 |
| Black Myth: Wukong | Medium + DLSS 4 Balanced | 74 | 58 |
| Alan Wake 2 | High + DLSS 4 Balanced | 82 | 64 |
| Forza Horizon 5 | High | 118 | 98 |
| CS2 | High | 144+ | 122 |
| Elden Ring | Max | 88 | 74 |

Thermals — Better Than Expected
Lenovo's dual-fan cooling on the LOQ 15 keeps the RTX 5060 at 82°C peak — 5–8°C cooler than competing budget machines. The CPU stays at 78°C. Fan noise maxes at 44dB — acceptable for a gaming laptop. In balanced mode for everyday use it stays near-silent. The LOQ runs notably cooler than similarly-priced ASUS and Acer machines.
Display & Battery
The 15.6-inch 1080p IPS at 144Hz is functional but not exciting — 295 nits measured, 62% sRGB. It does the job for gaming, but colours are visibly muted compared to higher-tier panels. Upgrade recommendation: if display quality matters at all, stretch to the Acer Nitro V 16 at $899 for a 16-inch 1200p panel with 88% DCI-P3. The 60Wh battery gives 3.5–4.5 hours productivity. Gaming drains it in about 90 minutes.
Build & Upgradeability
Solid plastic chassis — doesn't feel cheap but isn't premium. Both RAM slots and the M.2 slot are accessible — upgrading to 32GB RAM is straightforward and recommended if you plan to keep this machine 3+ years. Port selection is adequate: 3× USB-A, 1× USB-C, 1× HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, headphone jack. No Thunderbolt, no SD card reader.
